Tailored motorcycle project examples

Product strategy and business case definition We supported leading OEMs in researching customer requirements and market trends, defining product offerings and developing the business case for new (growth) segments and products. To ensure flawless delivery, we worked on requirements and implementation plans for the new products across all major functions, from development and purchasing, manufacturing and quality, to sales and service.

Cost reduction and operational excellence

Based on teardown analysis of competing motorcycles and engines, we supported our client using benchmarking data, and generated ideas to reduce Bill of Materials (BoM) and assembly costs.

Our measures and ideas included alternative technical solutions, functional integration, Best Cost Country (BCC) (re-) sourcing and bundling of volumes/modular kit strategies.

Sales and service strategies

We have helped OEMs to re-define their sales concepts and networks, and supported the preparation of sales networks for the introduction of new products. Our project experience also includes cost-of-sales analysis and optimization.

Organizational structure and processes

We have significant experience in organizational benchmarking and the re-development of organizational infrastructure and processes. We have supported leading OEMs and suppliers with the re-definition of product development processes, resulting in reduced lead times and programme costs.
